WORLD PREMIERE

In 1599, near Lancashire, England, the Thomas household is abuzz with elaborate wedding preparations for their only daughter, Isabelle. When a guest of the groom’s family becomes ill at the festivities and the renowned actor Richard Burbage shows up to provide the celebration’s entertainment, things quickly and hilariously spin out of control.

AUDITIONS: Sunday, December 4, 7pm; Monday, December 5, 7pm

CALLBACKS: Wednesday, December 7, 7pm

NEEDED: 3 women and 2 men, various ages; see character list below for details. Prep 1 comic and 1 classical monologue; total audition time 2 minutes. Non-AEA only; travel stipend for performances only will be provided. Rehearsals begin February 2017; performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm from April 7-30, 2017.

ISABELLA THOMAS 19, about to be married, over educated in a convent, very impressionable, passionate, impulsive

CATHERINE THOMAS 40s, mother, rather grand, schemer

HELENA BAGWELL 20s, servant, very clever, ambitious, discrete

NONA UNDERHILL 40s, aunt, perceptive, maternal, not dressed as a servant, but not of the same standing as her sister, Catherine. NOTE: This role is already cast.

HUMPRHEY BLUDGEPOT 30’s, a schoolmaster for the groom’s family, now a guest for the wedding, wants to be more poetic than he is, sensitive, articulate, self doubting

RICHARD BURBAGE 40’s, performer for the wedding, extroverted, clever, articulate and lively artist, generous and sensitive
