Everyone has a favorite song this time of year–one that brings home cherished memories of the holiday season. Contra Costa Civic Theatre is proud to present a cozy evening filled with those songs and memories, performed by Bay Area favorite LaMont Ridgell with special guest Anita Viramontes, backed by a swinging three-piece combo led by Dean Starnes. You’ll hear old favorites and new treasures, including “The Most Wonderful Time of Year”, “Silent Night/The Christmas Song”, and “Happy Holidays” in this one-of-a-kind salute to the season created especially for CCCT.

LAMONT RIDGELL is hopefully a very familiar face to subscribers of Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) having been in numerous productions: Ragtime, The Secret Garden, Big River and West Side Story, and most recently, Sondheim on Sondheim. If you enjoyed the holiday show specially written for CCCT in 2021, you’ll hopefully enjoy this updated show with added performances to embrace. Since the pandemic, LaMont’s been featured in award-winning virtual readings and performances for The Other Other Theatre Co. & The Yay podcasts. A few of his passions are singing, swimming, watching anime, Lego building, and his new “pandemic hobby”, narrating books for Audible. Let the fun begin as we welcome you Home for the Holidays 2023!!!

ANITA VIRAMONTES has performed locally since 1982. Shellie award for Onstage Theater’s Angry Housewives.  Dream role at age 21 as Eva in Evita for the Tibbits Opera Foundation. She has portrayed Abuela Claudia in In the Heights for Tri Valley Rep, Plethos Productions, Berkeley Playhouse, and Contra Costa Civic Theatre, for which she earned a Theater Bay Area nomination. Favorite productions: 2018 concert version of Follies with 42nd Street Moon, Becoming Eleanor Roosevelt with New Deal Theater Co. and Running For My Life from the periodical The Nineteen, about the 1/6/21 insurrection at our nation’s capital, produced independently by Marilyn Langbehn. Lead vocals for event band JD and Company.  1997-2003, lead vocals in The Great Time Out Band for The Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena. The Latin Project 2005 with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame percussionist Chepito Areas. Featured vocalist at the final service for Mr. Dean Lesher of Lesher Communications. All my love to Orazio, my supportive husband!

DEAN STARNES is a Shellie Award-winning musical director who has been a musician and actor since 1979 throughout the Central Valley and the Bay Area. His most recent involvement at CCCT was guest-conducting 2022’s production of Camelot.  He has worked frequently with most of the theatres in the East Bay over the years, so chances are you have seen and/or heard him in something!  Have a wonderful the holiday season and please enjoy the show.
